Every Living Thing by James Herriot

5.0

I've been going through all of the Herriot books, and after The Lord God Made Them All, I thought he had lost his way, as that book was my least favourite and seemed a bit too sentimental and not balanced with as much humour as his previous books. This was a return to form and among my favourites. It has his typical humility as well as many peculiar characters, and a mix of stories sad, sweet, and funny. It's the perfect bedtime reading.
