Britt-Marie Was Here by Fredrik Backman

4.25 stars - AMAZING AUDIOBOOK

Look,

I’m sentimental.

This is heartwarming.

I love it.

I don’t care if it’s very similar to A Man Called Ove. I enjoyed both immensely. This might actually be my favorite of the two.

This is a story about finding yourself. About choosing yourself. Like all of Backman’s books, this touches on the strings of finding independence and freedom in interdependence. On what it means to live in a community. On what it means to be an individual when you denied yourself that for so long. This is a book about love and life, and how you find both of them in the most unexpected and sacred places.

I just. Was so touched.

One thing -

I wouldn’t say I knew any of the children THAT well. But I still cared about them! And I do think Sammy’s death was quite sudden, and I’m not sure if he was fleshed out enough. BUT IT STILL HURT.
