My confession of the day is that I had never read or watched The Notebook prior to today here in the year 2023. I’m going to watch the movie, from my understanding it’s better than the book, and honestly it simply must be to have such a devout fan base.
The book is only okay. I’m all about a second chance romance, and I really, really enjoyed the Allie/Noah ~reconnection~, but the way it’s written you get the last 3/4 of the story told as like…a letter? You completely lose the story telling aspect of reading a book. Not the biggest fan, maybe the movie will be better.
