Somehow when I started What My Bones Know I missed that it's a *memoir* about C-PTSD and not an informational book about it. The first 1/3 or so was a lot of description of the abuse and trauma the author faced. It was rough but I was invested and needed closure so I finished the book and I'm so glad I did. The last half was about therapy and the healing journey, including a section about her wedding that was so sweet it actually makes me consider wanting a real wedding if I ever get married.
I'm not sure if I can recommend it since I think most folks who will gain a lot from it probably need the last 1/2 but will be triggered by the first 1/3, but perhaps with awareness of what's coming you can either skip to the middle or be a little more ready than I was to read/hear those first descriptions.
