Things in Jars
by Jess Kidd
This is a 3.5 stars rounded down. I can understand how some people would really enjoy this book but it didn’t resonate with me the way I thought it would. To be fair, I didn’t have time to sit down and binge this book, which could be why I didn’t connect to it. That being said there were times in the story where the author became unnecessarily descriptive. Instead of coming across as necessary details it was wordy and slightly out of place. I also expected more out of the climax/ending of the book. I never found myself quite on the edge of my seat. I think there is an audience I out there for the story, but it just wasn’t for me. I would give the author another try though because the plot was inventive and original.
