To Say Nothing of the Dog by Connie Willis

Did not finish book.
I have a decided aversion to comedy based on social embarrassment, particularly the kind resulting from mistaken identities and similar misapprehensions, so I got a couple of chapters in and then had to give up. (I picked it up because of the comparisons to _Three Men in a Boat_, which I had really enjoyed, but it's a distinctly different style -- the comedy in  _Three Men in a Boat_ is, if anything, based on the fact that the main characters are completely immune to social embarrassment, which I find much more relaxing.)
