Me: Elton John Official Autobiography by Elton John

5.0

I don’t know how to write this review, I love Elton John so I knew I’d like this, but it’s genuinely gone up there as one of my favourite books of all time, and I never thought I’d say that about an autobiography. I laughed a lot and also cried more times than I want to admit, and now I don’t know if anything will live up to this book. Music, queerness, fashion, trauma, addiction, love, grief, the topics covered are almost endless and Elton writes about them in such an honest but optimistic way.
Read along side the audiobook, and let me tell you, Taron Egerton performs the text so well that it feels like Elton John is just chatting to you over coffee. The chapters read by Elton himself are also amazing, I just don’t know how to sum up how incredible this was to experience! 11/10 and would recommend to literally anyone.
