The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea by Axie Oh
2.0
If you love fairytales, you might enjoy this book.
I say this because this book feels like a fairytale, albeit not neccesarily in a good way. The worldbuilding feels rushed, the characters shallow and the pacing off. The plot is predictable and the dialogues are unrealistic. It's a hopeful and optimistic tale, but it comes off as childish and none of the events hold much weight. I don't like the writing style either, it feels more suited for a soap opera than a fantasy book. That's probably the reason I enjoyed XOXO much more, the writing style feeling more fitting for a fanfiction type novel than a mythological one.
I did enjoy the concept, and it's not too bad if you read it with low expectations. 2/5
