Recipe for Satisfaction
by Gina Gordon
"Recipe for Satisfaction" is the first book in the "Madewood Brothers" series and the first book by [a:Gina Gordon|4036286|Gina Gordon|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/authors/1277932294p2/4036286.jpg] that I've read. The four Madewood brothers were all adopted by Vivian Madewood but each one continues to carry the family name they were born, as these names are part of the history of each brother. They are all successful chefs and this first book focuses on the youngest Madewood brother, Jack Vaughn.
Jack is known for being a bad boy and a ladies' man almost as much as his being a chef and restaurateur but after the death of his mother, Jack has been in hiding, no thanks in part to the paparazzi making him look like a callous son as his mother lay dying. On the other hand, Sterling Andrews is a no-nonsense professional organizer who has always done the responsible thing, often having to sacrifice her own dreams, and wants to shake things up in her life. When these two meet, they go into their relationship knowing it's meant to be temporary but you know what they say about best laid plans... ^.^
The story and the characters were both engaging and interesting and that ending was just too cute and had me grinning from ear to ear. However, there were a couple of hiccups--I felt the manner in which Sterling's family woes were handled seemed somewhat unfinished and Sterling's trying on Vivian's shoes seemed rather unprofessional for someone who was portrayed as responsible and more of a rule follower than a rule breaker.
All in all, this was a good start to a series and I'd definitely love to learn more about the other brothers in future installments. ^.^ "Recipe for Satisfaction" left me satisfied and gets four out of five stars.
