Afterlives of Chinese Communism: Political Concepts from Mao to Xi by Ivan Franceschini, Nicholas Loubere, Christian Sorace

3.0

This is a marathon collection with some really great essays and some really not-great ones. I think I'm more impressed with the existence of scholarship which re-evaluates and attempts to project the really existing socialism of the 20th century into the future than I am with the overall quality of the work here.

But, then again, I'm a nonspecialist with limited knowledge of the history of the PRC and CCP, so there was probably much I couldn't appreciate.
