Wells Whitaker has entered the chat. He is OFFICIALLY in my top 10 favorite book boyfriend. The dude is HOT. The way he talks dirty & sweet. The way he flirts. His touch her and die vibes. His grumpiness. The little things that he did for Josephine that meant the absolute world to her. The way he doesn't care what people think but he cares what they think about Josephine. I devoured this book! The pace was great. The plot was great. The characters and chemistry were TOP NOTCH. I just couldn't get enough of these two. I really love reading the unfurling of the grumpiness in grumpy characters. There is something so cathartic about it. It makes me smile so big!

After her "hero" on the course gives up on life and her family's pro shop is put in jeopardy from a storm, Josephine doesn't know what to do. It has taken her so long to get her family to give her some wiggle room. Due to her diabetes, they have always been a little overprotective. But then her life changes. Literally because Wells Whitaker, her hero, has shown up at her pro shop and offered her the job of his caddie. He is willing to go back to golf if she is by his side. She has to pinch herself because she can't believe it. And neither can her parents. They only believe it when Wells grabs the phone and explains what is happening which is how she now finds herself at the golf club in Texas on Wells' arm as his caddie. She can't help but feel like there is something simmering behind those beautiful eyes, but he is her boss and that is that. Right?! Until he tells her he is willing to try more but she has to lead the way. He doesn't want there to be a difference of power in their relationship and so they indulge with rules of no one can know. She has worked too hard. She also has to remind herself there is a deadline on this even though she can't think about what she is going to do when Wells goes to Miami and she goes home. Is home anywhere without him now? She has opened up to the man like no one before. He has shown her time and time again how much he cares but will any of that change when their secret relationship comes out?

Wells is over life. People in his life tend to leave him when things get rough. It is just facts. But now that he has pushed the one good person from his life. His forever following fan Josephine, he feels truly empty. He craves her sunshine and her beauty. So he picks up his pride and offers her a job. He picks up his pride again and calls his old mentor to get back on the tour. He picks up his pride again and shows up on the course with her. He starts to get in his head but then she throws a twist. Now he has a purpose. If he gets good shots, he gets to her. He gets to see what he has been dreaming about for days. He gets to get a taste of the sunshine he can't seem to walk away from. He finds himself going out of his way to make her smile. He finds himself smiling. He finds himself lighter and it all because of her. But what will happen when their time is up? Or worse if he has to end it sooner than expected? But ultimately he has to make that decision for them both. And she will understand that right??

I don't know how else to say how much I truly LOVED this book. If you haven't picked it up yet, I HIGHLY recommend that you do so. The way these two made each other better was just everything! That epilogue wasn't too shabby either! I can't wait to see what happens with Tallulah & Burgess :)
