" Lady, though you choose a home in the sunlit world, you are a Staryk queen indeed."

If you enjoy a slow poetic fairytale read, this story is for you. Unfortunately, it fell extremely flat for me. It had so much potential and was honestly disappointing. The magical world would be glossed over, and the mundane details were overly highlighted. The long chapters really drag on, and half the time, you aren't really sure who's perspective you're reading, especially when the author introduces a new point of view without any indication. It's so disorienting and really ruined the story for me. I craved more of the winter kingdom, the witches' cottage, and fighting the Chernobog, but I was only given breadcrumbs.
