A beautiful story about family, traditions, and fate. I loved learning about the Chinese mythology of the red thread of fate, this idea that some people are destined to be together, and how the author wove it into the story. All the characters are tied together for better or worse and the actions of one affect the lives of others. I also loved experiencing the Chinese adoption process and Tam's journey of becoming an adoptive mom. If you love stories about different cultures, motherhood, and family secrets then I definitely recommend this one.
