The Solace: OMG! This is the end—we're in it, and it's happening all around us. This book does one of my favorite (but also one of my least favorite) things—it has our narrator come up with a plan but not share it with the audience—we can't do anything but watch it play out, which cranks up the thrill, and wow, was it worth it in this one. The character development in this book was so insane - we had small inklings hinted at in the last two books, but now that the stakes are at their highest, our character has fully accepted their role and hit full send in this one, which forces me to think about all the gray between right and wrong, good and bad.

The Dread: More. It ended too soon and on a cliffhanger. I just needed more.

Overall, I'm so sad that I'm nearing the end of the series. This was phenomenal, and I'm so worried for the fate of our Animorphs - not just if they survive this final war, but what's left of them if they win.
