Surf War! was a cute little book with pretty artwork, and the moral to the story was nice.
However, something about the prose seemed off. At points it 'felt' like it wanted to go into a natural rhythm /rhyme, and then it would veer awkwardly away. Therefore, it wasn't as comfortable a read as it could have been.
It was a bit young for my 6 year old, but she liked the various sounds (slurp, patooie) we could make while reading, so it entertained her nonetheless.
