The characters in this book are very relatable, and the absorbing storyline is like no other. I found myself completely swept up in the tale that explores the process of moving through self-loathing to self-discovery and finally self-acceptance. While each of the three main characters are motivated differently, they all want the same thing: love. Even
Luc, the dark god, seems to undergo a transformation
of sorts. The ending was powerful, beautiful, and strongly feminist. Addie knew what she wanted from life as a small child, and three hundred years later she has developed into a formidable force who has the experience and skill to achieve her desires.

If you usually look ahead in a book, you might try to not peek. I habitually sneak peeks, but the description (without ANY spoilers) from my friend and bookseller made me believe that this book is something special and it deserves to unfold as it is read. I kept myself from rifling the pages behind my bookmark. The end of the book definitely was more rewarding and meaningful for me than it would have been if I knew even a few bits and pieces of what to expect.
