How to Talk So Little Kids Will Listen: A Survival Guide to Life with Children Ages 2-7
by Julie King, Joanna Faber
I found this just as valuable the second time through — maybe more now that my son is old enough to use many of the techniques. I'm also reminded how useful these techniques are for people who aren't children! Because they rely on treating your child like an independent human being, they're useful for conversations with adults as well: Acknowledge feelings — Give information — Invite mutual problem-solving. I hope to revisit this book again in the future for a valuable refresher. I recommend it for all parents and anyone who works with children.
