Well... I can quite honestly say I am SHOOK TO MY CORE! WHAT WAS THAT ENDING?!
Firstly I'll start off with characters. Saffron is so unbelievably complex! She wants to do what she believes is the right thing but she'll do heinous things to get there all in the pursuit of justice. Can quite honestly I find her character addictive. She is incredibly funny, her humour and quick wit are completely unmatched.
Levan, our MMC, is equally as confusing. He does atrocious things but he does things that are so unbelievably sweet and he's just a shy boy who wants love. Definitely one of the most interesting MMCs I've ever read. Sweet yet menacing.
There's a big undertone of religion in the plot of this book which I found to be really interesting, everyone has their own beliefs on what their religion says is the right thing to do. It spurs the characters to do some very interesting things.
The thing I love about Laura Stevens books is there's such a big diverse representation. From different races, religions, sexualities. And its never needed to be explained its just there and everyone accepts it. Beautifully written.
I am completely spiralling at the end of that book. The last two chapters had me clutching my pearls and staring at the wall trying to comprehend what I just read. I'm gonna be clawing the walls until I get the next book to find out what the hell is gonna happen because at this point I can't call where this series is gonna go!
