I genuinely enjoyed this book! It’s filled with friendship, childhood trauma, and romance. It dives into what going into a relationship with an unresolved traumatic past encompasses and how that can tarnish the things you love. This book leans heavily into mental illness and how we need to first take care of ourselves before we can take care of others. When we don’t it can not only affect yourself, but also your children and those around you.
I would not call this a lighthearted read, but it was a beautiful story. Abby handles mental illness respectfully and appropriately. She included all that I would have wanted and handled intense emotional trauma really well. I would recommend and definitely plan to read the rest of her books!
