I'm Fine and Neither Are You
by Camille Pagán
As I have been trying to read more adult fiction, I ended up grabbing this book due to the unique title (I got many comments on it during the time I read this book, haha) and the cute cover. This book had a slower pace in certain parts but overall I did not feel like it was dragging on or wasn't engaging me. I think in large part that had to do with the writing style. There were times where I didn't like Penelope or cringed a little at situations she ended up in, but I think that was a necessary journey for both the character and the reader. In the end, the story comes full-circle and felt very satisfying. Things that Penelope had done ended up making sense for me around the same time as she figured out some things about herself. The book follows her as she struggles not only with the death of her closest friend, but also with figuring out what she wants from her career and marriage in order to be content. Overall, it was a solid book and I liked it.
