Me and You been at each other for too long, he thought. The two of us, we’ve never seen eye to eye.

This is the first thriller I’ve read that made me want to read more thrillers. The author clearly holds a love for the setting, and it contributed a lot to my enjoyment of the book. The juxtaposition of how beautifully he paints the Appalachians in fall and how vividly he is able to depict body horror was probably my favorite part of the book. A slay.
