Sea Glass Summer
by Miranda Liasson
This story was a little bit heartbreaking but a whole lot hopeful.
Kit is a single mother trying to keep her life moving forward after the loss of her husband. Focused on providing her son with the best life, she's forced to make some decisions about leaving the comfort of her parents home to strike out on her own. Realizing the best way to move forward is to sell the house that she never got to share with her husband before his death but it needs a lot of work before it can be put on the market. This is where her husband's best friend Alex steps in. He's vowed to fix up Kit's house so that she can sell it in order to make sure that she and her son, Ollie, will be taken care of.
There is arguments and concessions but there is also a ton on chemistry. Things get complicated when long-time secrets are revealed and Kit and Alex will have to decide if they can let go of the past and create a new future or if moving forward means moving on.
This was a great story with wonderful characters, a beautiful setting and a great way to escape from the real world. I absolutely suggest this book to anyone who doesn't mind closed-door romance with low angst, fun world building and endearing characters.
