The New Camp Cookbook by Linda Ly is a free NetGalley ebook that I read in early August.
Faintly similar to the atmosphere for a cookbook I read earlier, called Best Served Wild, this book approaches camping food of breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and drinks with a fully outfitted site that has cold storage, a grill, chimney starter (my personal favorite piece of equipment from Girl Scout camp), and one or two Dutch ovens. *thumbs up* My kind of place. The stand-out, most awesome recipes are bacon-wrapped trout stuffed with herbs, grilled Italian loaf, charred romaine salad with lemon-anchovy dressing, egg-in-a-hole grilled cheese, grilled skirt steak and baby bok choy with ginger-soy butter, Dutch oven deep-dish soppressata and fennel pizza, ruby red grapefruit shandy, and nutty caramel s'mores.
