The last chapter infuriated me (not the epilogue - that was interesting and slightly concerning). I have to wait now to read the second book and I knew when I borrowed this from the library that I was going to regret it because there’s another book and I’d have to wait. Plus I have so many books on my TBR and I’m never going to get them done. But the anger is not going to keep me from reading the next book or rereading this one.

I loved the characters in this book. The amount of times that I grinned as the relationship between the main characters, Iris and Roman, developed was so fun. There was good tension and I just felt happy with them. I knew it wasn’t going to last - it never does, but the last few scenes were so sweet and lovely. I love them. The minor characters were well done too. I can still recall the majority of them so I feel like Ross did a good job of developing even the minor characters enough for me to keep them in my mind throughout the book.

The plot worked for me, if only for how Iris progressed as a character and seeing her put and returned into different environments was well done and interesting. The setting was really well done for me. I felt like I could see the world and like I was an observer on the sidelines.

There were some really beautiful lines as well, though because I listened on audiobook, I can’t quite them at all. This is definitely a book I want to buy later and reread again.
