Don't Fear the Reaper
by Stephen Graham Jones
I KNEW I should have waited until the third book was closer to release to read this one, but I just couldn't stop myself. And, oh. This book is even better than the first one.
There's a fiercely beating heart under all the terror and viscera and gore. This is just as much a story of survival, hope, and love as it is a gleefully meta slasher romp. I gasped, cried, cheered (Jade Daniels is THE Final Girl), and was fully nauseated at certain points. I AM DYING (heh) for the third installment.
(Also, the audiobook includes the acknowledgements narrated by the author, whose dedication to his wife is always touching, but actually made me cry this time around. Not to mention the cast was incredible - listen to the audiobook if you can!)
