We Are All Together by Richard Fulco, Richard Fulco

4.0

What a wild ride through the Summer of Love, 1967! Aspiring musician Stephen Cane follows his best friend and rising rock star Dylan John from Topeka, Kansas to New York City to try to reconnect with him—and if he’s lucky, reunite with Dylan as band mates in his current band, Red Afternoon. But eighteen year-old Stevie still has a lot to learn about life before he can truly become the rock star Dylan already is, before he can have the intangible “it” that Dylan has. Author Fulco deftly weaves in the issues of the day, from civil rights, to politics, to music festivals and musicians, to the drug culture and the hippie lifestyle, along with appearances by celebrities of the day. Stephen gets sucked into it all, the whole rock n’ roll lifestyle. Will he—and his band mates—make it out alive?
