crookedtreehouse 's review for:
The Walking Dead, Book 11
by Robert Kirkman
Up until now, we've mostly seen The Survivors come up with genius plans to ... uhhh ... survive, while their opposition gets so bogged down in Being Evil that their plans collapse in on themselves. Here, we see the villains come up with brilliant strategy of their own, and while (for the story to conitnue) it doesn't give them a victory, their downfall is much more believable as they are undone by humanity and pettiness instead of insanity and hubris.
We also see Rick and the rest of The Survivors evolving into smarter post-apocalyptical humans. The storytelling around the Rick / Negan dynamic was a cool and important step for this series to hold my interest.
