a sweet book about an old woman surrounded by people who only care about government, money, and social custom, whose whole life was taken away from her on account of being a woman in the late 1800s-early 1900s, managing to reclaim a bit of that after her husband dies. my only note is the pacing & division of sections was really rough because it could go 70 pages without a single break at times.
