Peter Green and the Unliving Academy: This Book is Full of Dead People by Angelina Allsop

3.0

Peter Green and the Unliving Academy was the perfect read to get me in the mood for fall. There were loads of werewolves and vampires and just all kinds of creatures roaming around the school. Don’t get me wrong, it was in no way scary at all, but still has that fall vibe I love. I think that technically this book is YA but I feel like I should say that to me it felt more middle grade at times.

This book was easy to fall into and I quickly got comfy with the little band of characters. The biggest problem I had was the plot. It was all over the place and there were a lot of unnecessary scenes which made it feel drawn out. It felt like the book couldn’t decide what direction to go in at first. There was just so much that didn’t need to be there and didn’t relate to the plot at all. And then there was also a lot missing about the world. “Afterlife” itself could have used more explanation because I’m still not sure I completely understand how it works. I mean they’re in purgatory? And that’s not a bad thing? I don’t know guys lol. But overall I enjoyed my time reading this one.

A huge thank you to the people over at TCK Publishing for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
