This book is about some amazing women, and I'm glad I read it. 5 stars for the content and the stories, but I personally really struggled with the writing, especially in the first two parts. I felt like it jumped around a lot, making it hard to follow, and there were SO many stories being told/jumped between that I often lost track of who was who/where and had to reorient myself. Parts 3 and 4 focused more on one story at a time which made it easier to keep track of. In general, there was a TON of information, and the way that it was organized just didn't make sense to me. I wish that there had been more of a unified storyline. I think that would have made it stick better. Instead, I have all sorts of information floating around in my head, and not much of it is accurately anchored to a person or place. Anyway, I'm glad I read it and will likely look for more information about some of the women it talked about, but it definitely wasn't an easy read (from both a content and a readability perspective).
