I picked up this book because I love mysteries/thrillers and sapphic books, and this is both of those things.

I thought the cast of characters were interesting and I found myself connecting to several of them. There were many characters with substantial development in this story, and I would say that is the aspect I enjoyed the most. I also loved the sapphic rep.

As for the plot, it did have me hooked however I have two major critiques. The first is that I personally believe there was too much going on at once for the reader to focus. Maybe this is just a skill issue and it’s convoluted on purpose, but I found myself getting lost in all the various plot points. The second is that it has several major similarities to AGGGTM. I love AGGGTM, it is what brought me into mysteries. So as much as I might have enjoyed seeing the mystery here unfold, I couldn’t help noticing the clear inspiration being taken.

Overall  it was a quick, enjoyable read and I have hopes that the author will improve in later novels because she has definite potential.
