Tikka Chance on Me
by Suleikha Snyder
This was a cute little romance novel but not as light or fluffy as the cover and synopsis promised.
The book was shorter than I expected (I didn’t check the book length - yes, I am an idiot) which was a shame as it didn’t allow for much development in the relationship. The Indian restaurant was basically a pun which made me smile but it hardly matters to the story. I wish there was more humour here because the setting exists only for the title pun.
Still on the positive side this short little book actually had a plot (there is a little mystery with the hero which I liked). Plus, I kind of liked the casualness of the heroine’s background. She was feisty, beautiful, normal and Indian. Pinky went to college, she slept around, she fell in love. I found that so comforting and refreshing. It was nice to not see her exoticized and otherized.
I just wish this was a little longer and we got more time with the couple. For that I give it three stars.
I definitely now want to go out and check this author’s longer books.
