Fool Me Once
by Harlan Coben
Maya is a female Army Captain with PTSD and she is trying very hard to reenter civilian life. The book opens, however, at her husband's funeral which now means she is a single mother of a toddler as well as a widow. When her friends gives her a nanny cam, Maya isn't sure if she is seeing things due to PTSD or what. As clues begin to emerge, this tale goes on a wild ride of deception. A Colombo-like detective, emotionally distant wealthy mother-in-law, borderline alcoholic brother-in-law, loyal soldier friend, and more combine so that the reader never quite knows who the good guys are nor what the truth is. This has a pretty shocking conclusion. Good read that will keep you up well into the night.
