The Takeover
by T.L. Swan
I do not remember how this book ended up on my TBR because it felt like it would be another billionaire sleaze book (and I love me some billionaire romance) where the FMC was "strong but not for him" and he was a total misogynistic power hungry dude. Wow, was I wrong.
First off, as a parent, this book really hit home with the struggle of balancing your life and wants and wishes with your kids. Claire's character was believable and flawed and human and I loved every second of it. Then there is Tristan, who like any spoiled rich kid, makes dumb mistakes like But Tristan was a great balance of cocky and confident with having human insecurities and not being perfect. I really appreciate characters who are not perfect, but can be perfect for each other, and this checked those boxes.
The ending was incredibly rushed and I wish I could give this 4.5 stars for it, but will round up to 5 because honestly, this was a great book.
