When I started this book, I felt a pang of disappointment as it appeared that the storyline was going to repeat from the previous book. In truth though, Rain's story is significantly different from Alyssa's. There is simply no way of confusing the two. Rain is stubborn and I loved her for it. She holds out against the bond, even when she could have easily caved, and she made Dorian pay for it in her own special way. I think it became clear in this book just how much the mates can pay if they don't act on their bond - both of them, not just the Immortal. Dorian is a dude but I seriously wanted to slap him at times. I was cheering Rain on when she spoke to him bluntly and laid it out just exactly how he was behaving.

With a changing overall arc and more developments occurring for the Guardians, this series just keeps on giving. Hot, spicy and all Alpha, this is definitely recommended.
