Things We've Lost and Found
by Ally Williams
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I give it 4.25 (rounded) stars. I thought Annabel and Charlie’s meet-cute was original and how their relationship took off was cute. The storyline at Annabel’s office fell a little flat for me, but I think it was a good B storyline that demonstrated her growth as an independent female character. The one storyline I wish had been more developed was her relationship with Layla. She was too prominent a character in Act I for her just to disappear later on. This romance definitely has some spice to it, but it’s not distracting from the plot — the author did a really nice job of balancing that. My last comment is based on my preference as a reader: when there are multiple characters, I like to sense diversity and this story didn’t contain a lot of that. But, otherwise, this was a great read and I’d read it again!
