Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

4.0

I love Silvia Moreno-García’s stories. Previously I read Mexican Gothic and then The Daughter of Doctor Moreau. I just finished The Beautiful Ones and Gods of Jade and Shadow on audiobooks. The worlds she creates are so vibrant and colorful. Gods of Jade and Shadow is a wondrous journey between worlds. Reminds me of The Wizard of Oz, but a story in which young Casiopea is not helpless. She’s eager to explore the mortal world in 1920s Mexico and the underworld of her new friend, a god in search of himself literally.
