The Art of Losing Yourself by Katie Ganshert

3.0

Do you ever love a book by a new-to-you author enough that you go back & find their earlier books? And then the earlier books are just...so so? You can see the author they're becoming but they're not quite there yet? That's what happened to me with this one. I really enjoyed No One Ever Asked by Katie Ganshert, but found The Art of Losing Yourself to be bit less polished.⁣

Carmen is a meteorologist and wife of the handsome high school football coach - but she's grieving multiple miscarriages & trying to figure out what making a family might look like. Her sister Gracie is a troublemaking teenager who runs away from their alcoholic mother & winds up living with Carmen.⁣

I felt like it had an unnecessarily big moment happen at the near end that didn't fully get explained, and there were a few other parts that left me hanging & those that were wrapped up seem rushed to be finished. I'd read No One Ever Asked instead!
