I do not understand all the hate that this novel gets. Yes, a lot of the novel is Holden complaining about his life but he's not wrong most of the time. He is trying to figure himself out and what being a person means to him and honestly that usually involves a lot of figuring out what you hate. Overall, I wish it was a little longer and we got to see or learn more about certain scenes. For example, he keeps talking about calling Sally but never does. I wish we got more on their relationship. I also am not a fan of stories that just end, although it wasn't as frustrating since Holden does go through character development it was a bit of a letdown that there isn't a solid ending in my opinion.
