Ghosts by Dolly Alderton

1.0

Ghosts is a new age chick lit about friendship, family, and love.

First of all, the cover is pretty. And Nina's friends were enjoyable to read, especially Lola.

On the other hand, Nina is dislikable. She acts as if she is the epitomy of feminism, all high and mighty, judging everyone else who doesn't seem to share her views. And no one calls her out for it! Even when she is a really bad friend, even when she keeps fighting with her mother. And yes, she has flaws, but she is written in a way as to appear to be flawless, as if everyone else is wrong and she is right, even when she makes that huge red flagged mistake with Max.

I now trully believe that if Nina was more likable and more relatable, and if the book had a main plot rather than a team of half backed sub plots, the book would have been enjoyable. The writing is enjoyable and the pop culture refrences were a nice addition.
