I really enjoyed this book! There was a lot of LGBTQ+ rep, which, coupled with the sirens and pirates, was right up my alley. The subtle (and not-so-subtle) mentions of orientations really warmed my heart, and it was really nice to be able to read something that I can relate to. The mental and physical disabilities represented were also a welcome change to what I usually read.
Besides that, I especially loved the sirens’ culture and learning about it through Pearl, as well as how they see human culture! Their struggles and how they overcame them were the most exciting part of the book for me!
