OH MY GOD! This was the perfect end to a Duology. Completely blown away. The writing was so well done, I was basically right there with our characters in that beautiful world.
Erik and Livia are possibly my favorite book couple ever. He would kill anyone who doesn't accept her title as queen and he won't take anything less than that. He would do anything to keep her safe, but also knows that she feels the exact same way. As the Queen she will stand right beside her King and defend their realm. Not to mention their steamy scenes are SUPER spicy and I'm here for it.
This book had an amazing found family story in here as well. Not just for our FMC, but mostly for our MMC. He is able to learn that people and caring for them is not for the weak. It is what pushes people to fight harder. To keep the people they love safe. Everyone was so well written that it was like tiny little stories included in one book. All of the couples I would love reading their own books on....especially the potential love between Tait and Mira. I do feel as though the character who grew the most besides our surly king was Jonas. We saw just how far he would go to keep the people he loves safe. I am super excited to see how his story will play out. He's not just a flirty playboy and that became very clear in this story.
I think this story line was amazing. It didn't feel rushed at all, especially the fighting scenes. Our main characters finally got the happily ever after they deserved and it would be fun to see them pop up in books to come. This book had me on a rollercoaster of emotions and I loved the ride. I love this author's work and will definitely be reaching for anything else she comes out with!
