Do you ever have that feeling like you read a different book than other people? I am currently having that feeling. This one was just ok for me. I kept pushing through because I have been approved for the ARC for book 2- I am so hoping that it is better than this one. I had a hard time connecting with the characters. I didn't feel like there was a lot of depth to any of them. The pacing was weird to me- everything seemed to happen very fast. No one was freaking out about the fact that this house is haunted- it was just fact. The plot was just lacking to me. This book could have been half the length if we are looking at it for what it was- a woman inherited a house from a long lost family member and said house is haunted. From what I understood, she is now responsible for unhaunting it somehow.

Sonya has just been called to a small town on the coast to find out about an Inheritance she didn't know about. She has inherited a legit mansion on the cliff that is supposedly haunted. She has just gotten out of a rough situation with her ex and decided to try starting her own company- so this will work perfectly. Except the house really is haunted. She is introduced to Trey who works for the law firm that helped out with her inheritance. Trey who helps her process the fact that not only is the house haunted but by multiple ghosts and the whole town knows and accepts this. But Sonya keeps having these crazy dreams about different brides that have died in this house. That is the thing- there seems to be a curse on the house. All of the Poole brides have died on their wedding day at the house. Now Sonya is in discovery mode to determine how to help or what to do to make the curse stop. Her best friend Cleo decides to come move in with her so she isn't solo and help her out with the ghosts. Finally Sonya realizes there is a mirror that she needs to find that will help her with the answers. Along the way she has started a thing with Trey and is really enjoying their time together. Now that the mirror has been found will she be able to stop the curse from continuing? Because even though she isn't engaged or anything it would pass to her as the next Poole bride potentially.

The romance between Trey and Sonya felt so blah to me. They had some chemistry but not anything that I found contagious. Again it just seemed rushed and like that was the only direction that things would go. And then when Cleo ended up kind of liking Trey's BF AKA Sonya's cousin- I internally rolled my eyes a little bit.

I do hate it when I have am outlier with a book. I am glad other people have enjoyed this one and again hope book 2 is better!!!
