I have a really hard time with SK. As a die hard horror fiction fan, I'd have to turn in my membership card if I said I didn't like any of his stuff.... but I have a really hard time reading/retaining King's style of writing- it's like his material is intended to be a screenplay rather than an actual book. I think the failing is more mine; his description leaves a lot open for the reader to interpret and I am just not an imaginative person. I dunno, maybe I'm missing the point. BUT I say all that to say that his short stories are my kind of style. Easy to follow and really enjoyable for the most part. I've read it at least 3 times now and each time I notice something new (the single benefit to being a lousy detail person).
