Audiobook Review

1. The only characters I cared about were Sima 'father give me strength' Yi and the ot3. I don't know what villanery Sima is into, but I still stan this drama who's had it almost up to here with Zetian and Shimin but will push through it anyway coz reasons.
2. My two brain cells are just going to take a moment to recover from all this coz wow, it's a lot fam. That epilogue made it even a lotter coz wow, what the heck was that? What the heck is this? What the heck is happening. I'm stressed and I need to take a moment because wow. Wow.
3. Is book two (2) going to destroy me? I mean, I'm okay with that actually. I don't mind being destroyed by good books actually.
4. I feel like Zetian was a little too perfect, but also I didn't feel too iffy about it and it's mostly because not a lot of time was spent on her revenge plot, she came in, she conquered and then she just decided to destroy, so. She did fall into things a little too easily, but sis was mostly surviving on spite and anger alone, so I don't see how she couldn't have done the things she did. It's like that saying: hell, woman, scorned, whatever.
5. I'm soft for the OT3 but I'm also in pain. I love all three of these babies, lord let them thrive. (I know what happened, but, but, BUT!)

7. There is a part of me that's like "everything happened a little easily", but the writing is so good I don't even care. I'm reflecting as I'm writing this review and maybe, normally, I'd give this book a three (3), maybe four (4), but Zetian was so unhinged the entire time and I loved that for her so much that I have to give it a five (5) star.
I think there are a few things that could've been done better, but also, I enjoyed this ride so much I don't care. This was amazing and I can't wait for boon two (2) to come in and absolutely obliterate me emotionally.
8. How dare I not mention the beautiful work Rong Fu did with the narration. It was perfection!
