Reckless by Lauren Roberts

** This is the second book in the series so anything you read here could be considered a spoiler unless you read both the first book and the accompanying Novella ..
——
After Paedyn Killed the King .. Kai’s mission is to hunt her down and bring her back to the now-crowned king: Kitt.
But she’s his downfall, his undoing!
Will he be able to hand the girl he loved to his king/brother that might just as well kill her?

I’m sorry in advance to anyone who was highly anticipating this book, and to everyone who loved it .. but;
This book was highly disappointing and was absolutely unworthy of the time I spend fighting my hunch to just put it down and not go on!
As I said:
[ ANYTHING I WRITE MIGHT BE CONSIDERED A SPOILER OF SOME SORT !! ]
Now that that’s cleared up ..
let me tell you how I and why I felt this way!
Lauren Roberts ended the first book with such a good cliffhanger that I was expecting a lot more from the second book. She was heading in the right direction with all that -Enemies-to-lovers- trope.. until she didn’t anymore..
She kept excessively reusing the same words -we’re enemies- & -pretend- over and over again! Which was okay at first but then it got extremely annoying!!
It kept dragging on and on for no reason!
This book could’ve been a 100 pages or so shorter!
It feels like 90% of the book was set in the desert!
What’s the point of mentioning some of the characters if they’re not even gonna stick on!?
And if you read the novella; you’ll probably get me when I say: WHERE THE HELL IS ADINA’S BOYFRIEND, MAK ??!!
I have to admit; the entirety of time reading this book, I was thinking: she gotta bring back Adina, I don’t know how but she’ll just resurrect her from death! … Alas, it didn’t happen
And the ending!!!
As much as I HAD NOT anticipated that! It was still annoying I am not onboard with it!
