HOLY ANCIENT ONE!

Well this was excruciatingly frustrating to read!
Why does it take forever for Elloren to gain access to her powers? She's so f-ing weak, and I'm over it. Only in the very end of the book, does this change. But when the last book finally comes, I'm sure the author finds a way to thwart her powers once again, just for the hell of it.

This series could easily have been 4 books instead of 5 (not counting Wandfasted and Light Mage, as those were shorter, quite enjoyable side reads). Book 3 and 4 combined to get all the stupid kissing and different POV's out of the way. And what is up with that, anyway? I don't give a sh-t about the romantic relationships of every goddamn character in this book! It was a ridiculous waste of time. If she suddenly felt the need to write a series about the magic of kissing and the characters finally getting to f-ck eachother, she could have done that, instead of ruining this one. My point is, there was no need to drag this out with filler books, the series would have been so much better if 60% of book 3 and 4 simply vanished.

And all this unrelenting racism coming from all sides is doing my head in. Your only chance to beat Vogel is to unite and fight together, but NO that can't be done, hating eachother is more important. Let's hope the last book rectifies that.

The last book better be f-ing good to salvage the trainwreck of where this is headed. I'm sad and I'm angry, because I LOVED the first two books. Here's to hoping! As it stands now, if I'd known this beforehand, I wouldn't have started reading it...

I love that Ariel is still alive and has overcome everything she went through! I hope she's the one to save the world.
