*Big thanks to Celadon publishing for the ARC this review is based upon*
This is my first Alex North novel and definitely had a creepy vibe (which I am reading in other reviews is a North hallmark). When I initially read the prologue, I audibly gasped and was shocked. Great start to the book! North carefully and diligently lays the ground work for this thriller with a philosophy slant. However, I do have to say I found the time hop/multiple characters confusing. Several time during the novel, I found myself saying "Wait, who is this again?" and "how do they fit into the story." Unfortunately this decreased my enjoyment of the novel.
Overall, I feel like readers of Alex North's novels will thoroughly enjoy this dark and cerebral novel. I enjoyed the mystery of the story and the complex relationship between Chris and Katie . Enjoy reading!
