Hunted by Darcy Coates

3.0

I'm a Darcy Coates fan. This is the 11th book I've read from her! But this one is very different from the others I've read so far. I'm used to her paranormal horrors, so this one took me for a loop!

This book is more of a classic mystery thriller, cat and mouse, slasher type of book, which I don't prefer. If you like books like that, you will LOVE this. It's claustrophobic, tense, and the stakes are high.

I almost DNFed, for a few reasons. 1. One of the characters in particular is just awful, and I hated reading from their POV. 2. The middle of the story, in my opinion, was far too long. It became repetitive and frustrating. I think if the book was trimmed by maybe 50 pages it would've made it a bit better. 3. Some of the character choices were unbearable. It was very hard to read lol.

But I am glad I pushed through, because the ending was awesome. It was super satisfying, and the revelation of the mystery took me by surprise.
