Clueless Puckboy
by Saxon James, Eden Finley
This addition to this great series is sweet, it’s funny in a low key way and despite Quinn being younger than Vance they handle themselves in a fairly mature way.
Quinn is the baby faced hockey player who has an injury he’s playing through in fear of being sent down to the farm team.
Vance is one of the teams sports medicine specialists, he catches on that Quinn is playing through pain and is determined to get him to be honest, cautious and slow down.
The thing that gets in the way is that Quinn has a major crush on Vance and when he’s massaging him (he has a groin injury) his body responds in *ahem* an obvious way and leaves him thoroughly embarrassed and denying he needs help.
The two become more aware of each other and their mutual attraction.
Secondary character Asher, from previous series/books by the authors is a hilarious wingman to Quinn and brings comedic flair.
It’s a workplace romance, there’s not too much hiding as they want to handle it without professional repercussions.
Vance is a great influence on Quinn, he’s so patient and goes the extra mile to find solutions for Quinn’s issues. Quinn is surprised to be treated so well which made me feel giddy for him.
It’s a low angst, low drama sports romance with likable characters, sweet intentions and hot sex. It has a bit of humor sprinkled throughout and the infamous “Queer Collective” do make entertaining appearances.
I enjoyed the story, I admit I’m a sucker for the books in the series that have a bit more drama and wild characters. It’s a solid addition to this fantastic series.
